Hello! My name is Vicar Adam Fairchild, and I have the privilege of joining Hope Lutheran Church in this upcoming season as your Interim Minister.

As your Interim Minister, I am so excited to get to know you and to serve God together. I’m especially looking forward to the time we’ll spend together each week in worship, where we’ll hear of and sing about and even feast on the good news that God is with us and for us in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has come to us to give us his grace and peace. In our scriptures over the coming weeks – especially on Pentecost Sunday, June 8th! – we’ll hear of the Holy Spirit, who gathers, sustains, and sends us to be the church for the sake of God’s beloved world. I cannot wait to witness the Holy Spirit already active in the community of Hope as I get to know you better in times of fellowship, pastoral care, Bible study, service, and more.

I come to Hope having graduated last year from Princeton Theological Seminary with my Master’s in Divinity and with a concentration in Lutheran Studies. While in seminary, I gained invaluable experience in pastoral care and congregational ministry while serving as a pastoral associate at a local Lutheran congregation and as a student chaplain at Penn Medicine Princeton Health. I am a 2020 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, and I have a B.A. in History and a minor in Spanish. I am an approved candidate for Ordination in the DelawareMaryland Synod of the ELCA.

I look forward to getting to know the communities of Middleborough, Essex, and all the towns and communities which neighbor our church. I make my home in Rosedale with my wife, Miriam Hanson Fairchild, and our rescue greyhound, Ranger. An ordained ELCA Pastor, Miriam works as the inpatient Oncology Chaplain at Johns Hopkins Hospital and serves in a part-time capacity at New Light Lutheran Church in Dundalk. In our free time, Miriam and I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking, and cheering on the Orioles and the Ravens.

When I’m not at church, the best and easiest ways to reach me are over the phone (text or call) at 443-974-1542 or over email at adammfairchild@gmail.com. Please do not hesitate to reach out! I want to hear from you, and I don’t take the privilege of serving as your Interim Minister for granted. Except in cases of pastoral emergency, I take a sabbath from email on Fridays and Saturdays.

Yours In Christ,
Vicar Adam Fairchild
Interim Minister
